Head of the rescue mission, Captain David Bustos said the lucky man was forced to drink urine to survive.
"From a distance of several miles, we saw someone on the river bank was giving a sign to us. As we approached, he knelt down and thanked God," said Capt. Bustos told the BBC on Saturday (09/10/2011).
"He said he had been trapped in a plane for more than 15 hours and when he finally managed to escape, he started running and survived by drinking urine and water from the lake," said Bustos.
Eight other people died in a plane crash on Tuesday, September 6 is. The plane carrying seven passengers and two crew disappeared from radar after takeoff from the City of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, east to Trinidad.
