TweetDeck Twitter has shut off access after a bug was found which give access to users on an account that is not theirs.

The bug was first discovered by a Twitter user named Geoff Evason. He immediately sent a tweet to TweetDeck and Twitter to notify the problem.

By Evason, this bug gives access to hundreds of Twitter accounts and Facebook simply by logging into the service using their account. To prove that he was not lying, Evason also send a test message from one of these accounts.

TweetDeck has confirmed that the service has been disabled through a Twitter post. However, the web does not give an explanation when the web can be re-used.

List of Software Used Facebook

The big challenge for engineers is to keep the site up alive and running smoothly despite handling nearly half a billion active users. This article looks at some of the software and the techniques they use to achieve this.
The scale of the challenge Facebook

Before we get into this in more detail, here are some facts as an illustration of the scale of the challenges that must be taken care Facebook:
1. Facebook serve 570 billion page views per month (according to Google Ad Planner).
2. Photos on Facebook more than all other photo sites.

3. More than 3 billion photos are uploaded each month.
4. Facebook serves 1.2 million pictures per second. This does not include images served by the CDN Facebook.
5. More than 25 billion content (status updates, comments, etc.) are shared each month.
6. Facebook has more than 30,000 servers (this number is the data from last year
7. Software Behind Facebook

In some ways Facebook is still a LAMP-based sites (like), but modified and expanded its operations by incorporating many elements and other services, and modified its approach to be like that exist today.

For example:

* Facebook is still using PHP, but have made compilernya so it can be converted to native code on its web servers, thus improving performance.
* Free use Linux, but has been optimized for its own purposes (especially in terms of tissue).
* Free use MySQL, but mainly as a key-value persistent storage, moving joins and logic to the web server because the optimization is more easily done over there (in the "other side" of memcached).

Then there are custom-written systems, such as Haystack, a highly scalable object store is used to serve the photos on Facebook a lot, or Scribe, logging system that can operate on a scale up.

Now let us discuss (some of) the software (software) that are used up in providing the largest social networking site in the world.

    Memcached

Memcached is now one of the most popular software on the internet. It is a distributed memory caching system that is used up (and many other sites) as a caching layer between the web server and MySQL server (because of relatively slow database access).

Over the years, Facebook has repeatedly perform optimization on the memcached and the surrounding software (such as optimizing the network buildup).

Facebook running memcached server with tens of thousands of terabytes of data cache at one point in time. This possibility is the world's largest Memcached installation.

    HipHop for PHP

PHP, a scripting language, is relatively slow when compared with the code that runs natively on the server. Hiphop convert PHP into C   code that can then be compiled to produce better performance.

This has allowed up to optimize its web server because it relies heavily on PHP for serving content.

A small team of engineers (initially three people) at Facebook spent 18 months developing hip-hop, and now has in production.

    Haystack

Haystack is a storage system / high-performance search photos on Facebook (Truly Haystack is a storage object, so it does not save the image). He was doing heavy work, there are more than 20 billion photos uploaded in Facebook, and each is stored in four different resolutions, resulting in more than 80 billion photos.

And it is not just about the ability to handle billions of photographs, performance is also very important. As previously mentioned, Facebook serves approximately 1.2 million pictures per second, the numbers do not include pictures / photos are served by the CDN Facebook.

    BigPipe

BigPipe is a dynamic web page service system developed by Facebook. Facebook used to serve every web page in multiple sections (called "pagelets" to produce optimal performance.

For example, the chat window is taken separately, the news feed is taken separately, and so on. Pagelets this can be taken in parallel, so kenerja stay awake, and also allows the user to access the site properly though some parts of disabled or damaged.

    Cassandra

Cassandra is an open source system that functions as a distributed database management. Facebook then develop it and use it to feature NoSQL Inbox Search. In addition to facebook, a number of other services also use, for example Digg.

    Scribe

Scribe is a flexible logging system is used internally by Facebook for many purposes. It was developed to handle logging in Facebook, and automatically handles the emerging new logging category.

    Hadoop and Hive

Hadoop is an implementation map-Reduced open source that allows for the calculation of large amounts of data. Facebook use it for data analysis (and as we know, Facebook has large amounts of data).

Hive developed by Facebook, and with it possible to use SQL queries against Hadoop, making it easier for non-programmers to use it.

Both Hadoop and Hive is open source and is used by a large number of services, such as Yahoo and Twitter.

    Thrift

Facebook uses several different languages ??for some services. PHP is used for front-end, Erlang is used for Chat, Java and C   are also used in some places (TC ESSWA

Tips to maintain an online business like Facebook

It seems everyone is using social media to expand their business. The irony is that a successful product of social media, however, will be very difficult to survive in the midst of all these social media content. The data are striking from PageLever, about 800 million Facebook users but only 7.5% of your fans who see your status updates. Sysomos reported that only 29% of your Twitter followers who saw you chirp. So, how would your business survive when omitted from the online world? Here are some strategies that can help sustain an online business as quoted from time:
1. Start of Fundamental Things
No question about it, your business must have a website and blog, and must participate in four of the world's largest social networks, namely Facebook, Twitter, Google +, and LinkedIn. People will look for you to ask for service and you will not miss the opportunity.
2. Established a Special Place
When you create a business, you must have a specific audience, which means that the audience will most likely buy your product or service. For example, the Law Office of Rachel Rodgers positioned himself in his office as "Innovative Entrepreneur of the Legal Adviser for Generation X". If you are too general in your work, then there is nothing that can attract customers to you.
3. Create a Valuable Content
Content that you publish must be concentrated on one topic related to your business. Your status update should contain elements of research, quotations, facts, stories, and ideas, rather than lip service products. Jeffrey Gitomer's comments are very famous, "People do not like to be sold but they love to buy". Direct sales through social media was the fastest way to inhibit the growth of your business. Your market should be drawn into a valuable and interesting content, then their customers will then look at your website and your products and services.

4. Interacting with the Audience
In addition to producing content regularly, you really need to interact and listen with your followers. By listening to what people are saying about your brand merchandise, you can serve them on the product and content directly. Start by using tools like Google Alerts and Twitter to monitor notification of your product.

5. Make yourself an expert
You can not rely on people finding your site by itself. You need to be proactive so that you can stand in the midst of chaos. The best way to do this is to exploit your capabilities, such as a source in one article. Every time you interviewed for an article, make sure your company name is included, and it will make the audience more interested in you. By having a third-party support from media outlets, you will become more credible, reliable, and your visibility will continue to grow.

Evidence Bartz Difficult 'Woman on Top' in the IT world?

incidents of firing Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz is quite surprising. In fact, Bartz had been named as one of the most powerful woman in the world of IT.
Carol Bartz is recorded in a list of 100 most powerful women in the world according to Forbes magazine, August 2011. He occupied the position of No. 37.
However, if sorted by industry, Bartz ranks fifth among the women who deals in the IT field in the list.
Despite being in the top position in Yahoo, Bartz was still shaken. In fact, he reportedly fired only through phone calls.
Batz firing incident was reminiscent of Carly Fiorina, Hewlett-Packard CEO who was forced to resign from office in 2005.
Is this an indication that the peak position in the IT industry can not be occupied by women?
When viewed from the list of Forbes Top 10 for the position of women in the IT industry are as follows:

1. Sheryl Sandberg, COO, Facebook (5)

2. Melinda Gates, cofounder and cochair, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (6)

3. Susan Wojcicki, SVP of Advertising, Google (16)

4. Cher Wang, cofounder and chair, HTC; VIA Technologies (20)

5. Carol Bartz, CEO, Yahoo (37)

6. Safra Catz, president, Oracle (40)

7. Marissa Mayer, VP, Local, Maps, & Location Services, Google (42)

8. Katie Jacobs Stanton, VP, International Strategy, Twitter (56)

9. Virginia Rometty, SVP, Group Executive Sales, Marketing and Strategy, IBM (82)

From that list, it appears that Bartz is the only one who served as CEO. And now, of course, Bartz was not the CEO anymore.
Just to compare, most (if not all) of the CEOs 'legendary' in the IT industry is male. Just look at Bill Gates (who retired in peace), Steve Jobs (also backward) or Larry Ellison (Oracle still in bud).
Of course, seeing it merely by looking at the gender difference is unfair. Yahoo's Board of Commissioners would have Bartz reasons behind the dismissal.
Moreover, certainly not least sexed male CEO who was fired from the top of the IT industry. Just look at the incidence of Mark Hurd, CEO Hewlett-Packard, who was ousted in 2010.
A more plausible reason is a matter of business. IT industry is currently facing many changes with the rise of new players such as Facebook or Twitter. Changing the helmsman could be the main choice to make the changes for old players like Yahoo.

After the success of BlackBerry Playbook gush as its first tablet PC fleet with the new operating system based on QNX, RIM is reportedly planning to implement and carry her QNX base platform is in its BlackBerry line of smartphones.
"We are developing multi-core smartphone, and QNX is a multi-core platforms Us What cater for those devices," said Mike Lazaridis as RIM's co-CEO at the time.
Although not known with certainty so far, but one man named Carlo Chiarello, who served as VP of business unit of GSM / UMTS at RIM, said that today it has developed a prototype based on the QNX. And he unfortunately did not reveal details about the QNX-based smartphone is RIM's first and only express the possibility of smartphones in attendance could have been full touch.
In this regard, the RIM itself plans to release a new Storm device that is based on QNX. And so far, apparently still not clear whether the smartphone will offer a similar experience with the BlackBerry Playbook offer or not.
"The fact that the team We've done a phenomenal job in a short period of time to do what they do in the Playbook," said Carlo Chiarello in a recent article on TechRadar records.
"Experience [QNX] will begin to enter the ranks of advanced product Us. I can not say when and I am not allowed to reveal it. But definitely, it's all really part of what we are doing now. "
"I can tell you that these devices will be coming soon to a higher value proposition first. The possibility also will present the first all-touch, maybe even more ... but I can not tell time. What is certain is that device looks amazing of course! "
QNX first handset from RIM that will be released before the end of next year, expected to carried by multi-core processors. Yes, We'll see!

Cool, Mobile Can In-charge with Voice

For those of you who frequently travel and hard to find a power outlet to charge the phone battery is discharged, it is very disappointing is not it? Now do not bother to charge the battery via the power outlet, only through voice phone battery can be charged back. Technology is cool is not it?

Yes, the phone ran out of batteries have become a common complaint in today's life. It is not uncommon to make the mobile phone users annoyed. But a new discovery seems to be able to become an alternative solution for this problem.

As the Telegraph's website, the engineers in the field of electro from Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea, to develop a new technique that can convert sound into electrical energy. So, the phone battery can be charged or recharged when the user was talking using a cell phone.

This technology also can use background noises to recharge the battery when not in use. From the start the music until the noise of motor vehicles, could become energy for mobile phones.

"A number of approaches to 'scavenge' energy from the surrounding environment, the more intensively developed," said Dr. Sang-Woo Kim, one of the researchers.
"The voice, which is always present in our environment everyday and still be ignored as a source of energy. This then motivates us to realize such a power plant that converts the sound of conversation, music or noise into electrical energy, "he explained.

This technology uses a piece of zinc oxide is inserted between two electrodes. There is a device that absorbs the sound on the top and will vibrate when sound is absorbed. This causes the zinc oxide depressed and this movement produces electric current that can be used to recharge the phone battery.
So far, the findings of Dr. Kim and his team had to change the votes of 100 decibels - the equivalent of traffic noise - to generate 50 millivolt electricity. (TeknologiNet)
