A man in Taiwan on Wednesday (09/07/2011), was arrested on suspicion of theft of 35 human skeletons have been found at a construction site in north island, police said.
Frameworks that are not claimed and seems to have originated from an old burial ground had been placed temporarily in a warehouse. The man suspected of stealing frameworks and took to Taipei, the location where he was captured on Tuesday, police said in the Miaoli area.
The suspect, who worked for the funeral home and has a record of theft and drug abuse, said he was afraid of skeletons unearthed during construction of the museum will be stolen because it was not locked shed, police said.
The man then put the carcass in a truck and parked near a park in Taipei for nearly a month before he was arrested, police said.
